Crew are able to study independently of the onboard trainers, and anywhere they have access to an internet connection, reducing the number of days they need to attend in-person training.
Their learning activity being automatically synchronised and instantly available to administrators in their learning record.
This enables you to push more training to crew to do at home, pre-joining and Training Managers can arrange top ups with targeted/hands on training on board resulting in cost savings.
Mobile app
Your crew have access to their training assignments and records through their mobile phone.
The training they complete on their mobile is synchronised with their learning activity being logged and instantly available to administrators in their learning record.
Remote training
Deliver your in-house training remotely as part of a blended learning programme using the Virtual Classroom functionality in OLP. You can deliver instructor-led training anywhere, anytime and brief your crew onboard from the shore.
With OLP you can also shift familiarisation to pre-joining. Otherwise, crew have to hit the ground running immediately on arrival on board. Frequently they are fatigued at this point and don’t take it in what is being communicated making training a tick box exercise, negatively impacting performance and safety.
An additional advantgae is to the safety/training officer onboard. These are often overwhelmed so this will allow them to focus on their objectives.
Comprehensive reporting
You can identify training performance issues before they become a problem, implement proactive remedies, and put plans in place to improve performance going forward.
With a clear view of performance, you can see issues that may arise in audits/inspections and proactively address them. If an audit identifies the same issues, the fact you have a plan to address them can reduce the severity of the finding.

All records of training are automatically synced and viewable by you and your team.
Cloud Simulation
Deck and engine crew are able to undertake familiarisation and refresher training for new equipment and berthing procedures in Wartsila simulated environments, both on shore and onboard (when connection allows).
Your have lower training costs as crew need to spend less time attending physical simulators, with simulator familiarisation, assessments and portions of mandatory simulator sessions being conducted using Wartsila’s Cloud Simulator.
As all sessions, and their outcome, are logged in OLP, compliance reporting is quick and easy.
