12 Days of Christmas user generated content tribute to seafarers

To support seafarers this Christmas in what has been an exceptionally challenging year, a group of maritime organisations are collaborating on a campaign called #SeafarersDeliveringChristmas.

As our contribution, Ocean Technologies Group have created a singalong video to the tune of the 12 days of Christmas with lyrics specially written by the #SeafarersDeliveringChristmas team. Video submissions have been uploaded from across the world to make a truly collaborative maritime industry anthem to show appreciation of our colleagues at sea.

The COVID pandemic and the crew change crisis has placed incredible stress on our seafarers. A coalition of shipping organisations have come together to ensure that seafarers are not forgotten this Christmas. At this special time of year we call on industry, social partners and all who care for seafarers to step up and ensure that those who deliver Christmas to the World are supported. We aim to ensure that no seafarer is forgotten at this time of year. You can support the campaign with the hashtag #SeafarersDeliveringChristmas

As part of the campaign, we called on family, friends and those that stand in solidarity with our seafarers to help us make a festive video tribute just for them. This has been a challenging year for many of us, but seafarers as key workers have had to go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that the world is supplied with the goods we all need. We hope together that this video sends a strong message of support and appreciation that will help to lift their spirits.

The video is a singalong of the popular ‘12 Days of Christmas’ song, but with some very special new words written just for seafarers.

We also received some video messages of support from Adina Valean European Commissioner for Transport.

We’d like to thank everyone that submitted their videos and sung their hearts out for our seafarers. Submissions are now closed.
