Fugro announces ‘pivotal moment’ as they go live with COMPAS
May 16th 2024
Fugro Fleet Services, part of Fugro, a leader in the geotechnical and offshore services industry, has announced the successful implementation of Compas, OTG’s cloud-based crew management system designed to improve efficiency, security, and the overall crew experience.
“Compas represents a pivotal moment for Fugro,”
said Ilja Becker, Senior Fleet Project Manager at Fugro.
“This transformative solution empowers our team of over 800 offshore colleagues by streamlining workflows, centralizing data, and providing a user-friendly interface for both office and onboard personnel.”
Compas replaces Fugro’s previous crew management system, implemented in 2014, which had become outdated as the company expanded. The incumbent system lacked efficiency, speed, and a user-friendly experience for both onshore and offshore teams.
“We conducted a comprehensive search for a replacement system, prioritizing features that would enhance our crew management capabilities,”

“Compas emerged as the clear frontrunner, with its intuitive design, robust features, and potential for streamlining operations.”
Compas: A Suite of Solutions for a Connected Workforce
Compas integrates seamlessly with Fugro’s existing Learning Management System (LMS), creating a centralised hub for crew data, training, and development records. Compas also streamlines tasks such as managing work and rest hours, creating port-related crew documents, and booking travel.
“Compas is more than just a tool,”
said Angelique Reynolds, Global Fleet Crewing Manager.
“It’s a suite of solutions designed to cater to specific needs within our crew management operations, ensuring flexibility and comprehensive functionality.”
A Collaborative Effort for a Smooth Transition
The successful launch of Compas is a testament to the dedicated efforts of Fugro’s project team. The team conducted thorough testing and training sessions with a select group of users before migrating data from the legacy system.
Additionally, Fugro ensured compliance with data protection regulations through a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) and established GDPR-compliant document retention protocols.
“We are confident that Compas will not only meet but exceed our operational requirements and strategic objectives,”
concluded Angelique Reynolds.
“This system positions Fugro for continued success in the dynamic and demanding offshore services industry.”
